Doula Services

Prenatal & Labor Support

A birth doula provides emotional, physical, and spiritual support for the birthing person (and their partner, if present) before, during, and after birth. Through prenatal appointments, a doula provides resources and helps you prepare for your upcoming birth. During your labor and birth, your doula will be an important member of your support team.

Postpartum Support

Ask any person/family who has invested in a postpartum doula – and they will tell you it was one of the best decisions and investments they’ve ever made. Postpartum support looks and feels different for each person who seeks the support but typically involves comforting touch, preparation of nutritious food, drawing herbal baths, preparing sitz baths, and helping to facilitate your natural healing process.

Lactation & Feeding Consultation Support

Integrative Lactation and Feeding Specialists work with each family in its own specific, individual case. We help the family to discover and overcome their unique challenges to have the healthiest possible, most satisfying feeding relationship between the parent(s) and baby(s). As an Integrative Lactation & Feeding Specialist (ILFS) we value and consider a whole person, whole family approach to assisting new parents with learning to feed their newborns.

Return to Work Support

This program focuses on transitional support via consultations for the birthing person and their partner (if present) by drawing on my 14+ years of corporate HR experience. Together, we prepare for what a “return to work” would look like for the individual(s), alternative workweeks/workdays, focus shifts, communicating lactation support/needs, how to ask for a raise (YES even when you’ve just returned from leave), change of role and promotion. I also prepare and elevate clients who might associate feelings of anxiety, overwhelm and guilt based on their decision to return to work.

Postpartum Meal Planning & Delivery Services and In-home Private Postpartum Chef Services

Food is medicine. Postpartum people need specific foods during their fourth trimester to restore and replenish their bodies. Right after giving birth, an individual is sensitive to cold and wind, which is why it is important to nourish the body with foods that are warm in temperature and have an internal warming effect with the spices used. Foods that are warming, easy to digest, collagen dense, and rich with minerals will come in handy to reinvigorate the body after giving birth. Plans and delivery services are customized to client’s needs and wants. Private in-home postpartum chef services are also available. Email us at support@wholesouldoula.com for more information.
